I am Engaged!

Sorry for the delay in posting... Rob took me on a surprise secret trip to Chicago this weekend and I'm still recovering!

Early Saturday morning he dragged me out of bed and had me pack "warm" clothes. Then he gave me an envelope marked #1 and we hit the road! The envelope had a few lines of driving instructions, stay on I75 til exit 285, for example. Every time we reached the last line in the envelope, I got a new one, with  new instructions.

Each envelope had a little something in it, like a free back rub coupon, lottery ticket, hotel information/picture, etc. It was so exciting when it was time for the next envelope! I still had no clue where we going until envelope  4, when we were outside Indianapolis and I noticed we went under an I-65 sign that said "Chicago". I guessed it right then! :) I had thought we were going to Perfect North, a ski lodge in Indiana.

I'll show pictures of Chicago tomorrow, but today, I'll go with the engagement story.

Saturday night we went out to the end of Navy Pier (where it was totally freezing cold and I might have complained a bit about walking all the way to the end of it) where he handed me a sixth envelope!

I loved it!! Such a romantic way to ask!! And the setting was gorgeous.

Then we hurried inside after taking these pictures, it was 3 degrees F!

I love my ring too, simple and a twist on the traditional with the little diamonds under the big one :)

(side note, it is VERY hard to take a good picture of a ring!)

So Happy!!!
